Family Groups At Home-Start Dover District

What is the Family Group….
The Family Groups offer informal support for families living within the local communities of Dover & Deal. Families, who find group support more acceptable than having a volunteer visiting them in their own homes, can be referred to the Group. The Group aims to offer a regular meeting place for families with children under five to socialise, relax and make new friends, share ideas and experiences, find new interests, gain self confidence and generally take advantage of the various activities offered. Tea, coffee and drinks for the children are provided and the atmosphere is very friendly. There is play equipment and a weekly activity whereby our Family Worker will encourage the children to take part. In addition, we will aim to arrange topics of interest and be there to offer a ‘listening ear’ if needed.

Family Groups Who is it for…
